Is it true that my chances of becoming pregnant drop significantly after age 35?
Age is not an absolute barrier to conception, but as a woman gets older it is more difficult to conceive. Your fertility actually starts to decline in your late 20s, but it is true that after 35 the decline is accelerated.
That doesn't mean that you won't be able to conceive after 35, though. It simply means that it will take the average woman longer to get pregnant. For example, it's estimated that it would take a normal 25-year-old 2 to 3 months to get pregnant, and it will take a normal 35-year-old 6 months or more.
