Gioia, Nutkao nut spreads recalled

OTTAWA - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people with allergies to peanuts not to consume certain Gioia and Nutkao brands of nut spreads imported from Italy.
These products may contain peanuts which are not declared on the label. The products have been distributed in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec and maybe other provinces.
There have been no reported illnesses in Canada, however, allergic reactions have been reported in Europe.
The following products manufactured by Nutkao srl, Italy are affected by the alert.

Nutkao Fantasia di Cacao - crema bicolore, 200 g, UPC 8 008245 000696.
Nutkao Gran Cremeria, 350 g, UPC 8 008245 001013.
Nutkao Snack, 32 g, UPC 8 008245 002003.
The Canadian importers are voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
