Baby Jogger City Versa. (Handout)

Canadian and U.S. authorities have issued a recall of a baby stroller after the manufacturer received six reports of children falling out of them.

Health Canada said the frame on the Baby Jogger City Versa, about 2,200 of which were sold in Canada, can fail to lock in place and collapse while in use.

The strollers have charcoal-coloured metal frames with black, silver, red or green fabric stroller seats and canopies. The recalled units were manufactured in China between May 15 and August 20, and the date of manufacture is printed on the black plastic side hinge of the stroller.

Customers can contact the Canadian distributor, Brands in Motion of Mississauga, Ont., for a free replacement frame.

The six reported falls occurred south of the border, and neither Canadian nor U.S. authorities have received reports of any injuries, Health Canada said.
