Kirkland Signature grilled chicken breast strips have been recalled. (Handout)

Kirkland Signature grilled chicken breast strips have been recalled because of Listeria contamination concerns.

The chicken was sold in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador, and may have been sold elsewhere in the country, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said in a press release.

The chicken strips come in a package with two 500g pouches.

The recall was triggered after CFIA testing.

No one has reported becoming ill from eating the chicken.

The CFIA said Listeria monocytogenes bacteria can be particularly dangerous for pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.
