Care of hair and nails

Hair

Wash hair with a gentle shampoo every day or two. It is important to rinse thoroughly because the shampoo really just frees the dirt and oils from the hair shaft, allowing them to be carried in water. Thorough rinsing ensures that the dirt is carried away. And, contrary to many manufacturers' claims, shampoo can't do anything more to the hair than help clean it. After it is washed, dress your hair with a light protein gloss or gel-type preparation.

Nails

Nails are made of keratin protein and reflect your nutritional status and general health. Proper nutrition, good general health, and gentle care to the nails are the secret to good nails. Do not cut cuticles or push them back. This will only inflame the nail fold, causing it to crack and weaken the nail. Nor should you use a hard instrument to clean under the nail. Use soap and a nail brush. Every night apply a moisturizer to your nails to reduce evaporation of water.
