Talking to family and friends about menopause

Some women find that reaching out to their family and friends for support and understanding can help them deal with menopause symptoms.

If you're having trouble talking about menopause:

  • Remember that you're not alone, and that all women eventually go through menopause.
  • Give a friend or family member an interesting article about menopause so that you can start a conversation.
  • Say, "I'm dealing with menopause symptoms, and I'd like to talk to someone about it."

Talking about menopause can help your family and friends understand how it is affecting you and how they can help. They may also share coping tips.
