Trimebutine belongs to the class of medications called spasmolytics. It is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (spastic colon). This condition is caused by overactive movements of the bowels. Trimebutine works by slowing down or normalizing the abnormal movements of the bowel.

The adult recommended dose consists of up to 600 mg daily taken in 3 divided doses (200 mg 3 times daily) before meals.

It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. 100 mg
Each white, round, biconvex tablet, scored, and engraved "TMB" over "100" on one side contains 100 mg of trimebutine maleate. Nonmedicinal ingredients: magnesium stearate and methylcellulose.
200 mg
Each white, round, biconvex tablet, scored, and engraved "TMB" over "200" on one side contains 200 mg of trimebutine maleate. Nonmedicinal ingredients: magnesium stearate and methylcellulose.
Trimebutine should not be taken by anyone who is allergic to trimebutine or to any of the ingredients of the medication.
