How does Teva-Terbinafine work? What will it do for me?

Terbinafine belongs to the class of medications called antifungals. It is used to treat certain types of fungal infections of the skin and nails.

How should I use Teva-Terbinafine?

The recommended adult dose is 250 mg once daily or 125 mg twice daily. If you have reduced liver or kidney function, your doctor may recommend a lower dose. The length of treatment depends on the condition being treated and the severity of the infection.

Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones given here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.

It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed. Use the medication for the prescribed length of time even if the infection clears up, to prevent it from coming back. If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is the following day before you remember your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Store this medication at room temperature, protect it from light and moisture, and keep it out of the reach of children.

What form(s) does Teva-Terbinafine come in?

Each white to yellowish white, round, biconvex, bevelled-edged scored tablet, engraved with "N|N" on one side and "250" on the other, contains terbinafine 250 mg (as terbinafine hydrochloride). Nonmedicinal ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, and microcrystalline cellulose.

Who should NOT take Teva-Terbinafine?

Do not use this medication if you are allergic to terbinafine or any ingredients of the medication.
