This medication is used to treat skin rashes that have become infected by certain bacteria or fungi. It contains 4 ingredients: triamcinolone, neomycin, gramicidin, and nystatin.
Triamcinolone belongs to the class of medications called corticosteroids and works by decreasing inflammation. Neomycin and gramicidin belong to the class of medications called antibiotics and work by killing certain bacteria. Nystatin belongs to the class of medications called anti-fungals and works by killing certain fungi.
Your doctor may have suggested this medication for conditions other than the ones listed in these drug information articles. As well, some forms of this medication may not be used for all of the conditions discussed here. If you have not discussed this with your doctor or are not sure why you are taking this medication, speak to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor.
Do not give this medication to anyone else, even if they have the same symptoms as you do. It can be harmful for people to take this medication if their doctor has not prescribed it.
Cream: Rub into affected areas 2 to 3 times daily.
Ointment: Apply a thin film to the affected areas 2 to 3 times daily.
Do not let this medication get in your eyes. If contact occurs, flush with plenty of water and consult your doctor.
Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones given here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
It is important to use this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor If you miss a dose, use it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Store this medication at room temperature, protect it from light, and keep it out of the reach of children.
Do not dispose of medications in wastewater (e.g. down the sink or in the toilet) or in household garbage. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed or have expired.
Each g contains triamcinolone acetonide 1 mg, neomycin base (as sulfate) 2.5 mg, gramicidin 0.25 mg, and nystatin 100,000 units. It is formulated in a perfumed aqueous vanishing cream base which permits its use even in most intertriginous areas. Nonmedicinal ingredients: cetomacrogol emulsifying wax, citric acid, ethyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, methylparaben, perfume, propylparaben, propylene glycol, purified water, sodium phosphate dibasic, and white petrolatum.
Each g contains triamcinolone acetonide 1 mg, neomycin base (as sulfate) 2.5 mg, gramicidin 0.25 mg, and nystatin 100,000 units. It is formulated in a protective emollient ointment base of mineral oil and white petrolatum.

Do not use this medication in the eyes. People with perforated eardrums or otitis media should not apply it to the external ear canal.
