Expert Opinion: Cholesterol

Question

Now that I'm on medications for cholesterol, does this mean I can stop my diet?
Dr Choi's response:

NO, you should NOT stop your diet. Medication is only one component, though vital, of the overall strategy to reduce your cholesterol to an acceptable level. The other part includes healthy food choices and regular exercise. Without diet and exercise, you may require increased doses of your current medication, or the addition of other medications, increasing your risk of side effects.
